Win32 Agent for remote SNMP collection?

Is it possible to extend the Win32 agent to remotely collect SNMP data? If not would it be possible in developing something that would do this? Many systems we monitor are beyond our network seperated by firewalls, preventing the ability to easily monitor SNMP devices from the Zabbix server. If this is all doable, I'd be interested in helping develop something to make this happen.
