    hi, sccuser.
What type of linux installed on your vmware?
if ubuntu or debian, you can type command
    Code:
    apt-get install sendemail

        Try to use
        Code:
        dpkg --install sendemail
or type "sudo" before command "apt-get"/"yum"
cause your privileges may not contain a necessary privileges.
P.S.: I'm sorry for my poor english - I'm Russian, and just learn this language.

Zabbix appliances are build on OpenSUSE. OpenSUSE use yast update method.
          You can install sendmail:
          zypper install sendmail

I think it is the Opensuse.

            try:

            Code:
            zypper install sendmail
            and look at http://en.opensuse.org/SDB%3aZypper_usage
