SUSE ZABBIX Not Working!!

Dear all,

When I finished to deploy the ZABBIX with SUSE VOF file.
And also install the newest agent in windows server, but the zabbix agent monitor function is not working, it is gray! No any warning!



Anyone know how to fix it?

There are so many things that could be wrong.. Having just gone through this.. Try an iptables --list on both the server and client. If there are blocking rules in there, then that's probably the problem. Given SUSE, that's probably it. iptables --flush and turning off the firewall in SUSE will likely get around that issue.

Firewall may not be the root cause.

There are so many things that could be wrong.. Having just gone through this.. Try an iptables --list on both the server and client. If there are blocking rules in there, then that's probably the problem. Given SUSE, that's probably it. iptables --flush and turning off the firewall in SUSE will likely get around that issue.

Hi, I already tried to off the firewall with "/sbin/SuSEfirewall2 off"
But it still gray..

I just link the host to Template OS Windows. Nothing more.


My version is 2.0.6
And I also set them to be Node mode.But Node mode will not be strange like that , right?

Oh, that means I changed the server to be a Node Server (Child).
So I run the command ./zabbix_server -n 1 -c /usr/local/etc/zabbix_server.conf
to convert the database, I am not sure it is relevant to this case.


Now the firewall off, and monitor items is Template. And for client server, the IP on agent conf file is correct. I just doing the simplest setting. But I don't know why it does not work.

yes, that is exactly why it does not work. i would personally suggest to drop this appliance and just start from the scratch,
if you want to persist, change the nodeid in the server configuration file, too
