Single host. Can I have less Zabbix processes running?

    Hello!

I'm new to Zabbix and have trouble understanding its configuration files. I only have a single LEMP host (Linux - EngineX (Nginx) - Mysql - PHP) and want to monitor it.

I installed both Zabbix agent and server to my host and found that I have like 15 Zabbix processes running (5 agents and about 10 server processes).

Isn't it an overkill for a single host?

I run Zabbix 2.0.4 on Ubuntu 12.04. All I want to do is check my host's RAM, CPU and nginx stats (via http_stub_status_module).

Can you please advise what values should I use for StartAgents, StartDiscoverers, StartHTTPPollers, StartPingers, StartPollersUnreachable, etc to reduce the number of running Zabbix processes?

    Thank you!

In the past, quite often Zabbix users have been puzzled regarding some server tuning parameters – for example, how many pollers do they need? It was usually determined based on experience, testing and a bit of guesstimating. No more fuzzy attempts – get hard facts with Zabbix 1.8.5. UPDATED 2011.11.02: new downloadable template version v2 […]

(And look in zabbix_server.conf and zabbix_agentd.conf)
