    IT Services - Export/Import

    Hi,

Is it possible to export and import IT services? As I have 800+ services i'd like to monitor the SLA of and don't fancy adding them all by hand.

    Thanks

    IT Services - Export/Import

    Adam,
I believe the most efficient way if you have lots of services is to add them using the API. This would take a little bit of up front scripting but depending on how many services you want to monitor, if you have a lot of services to add, it would pay to use the API. The thing I'm trying to come to grips on is the best way to organize the services. It looks like you cannot use a template approach and have to create a service for each host and then child services for each application associated with said host. If you have lots of hosts and lots of services to monitor for each hosts, this is going to be overwhelming and lots of work adding by hand. The Monitoring/IT services is going to get very lengthy as well.

I would too! I have more than 800 SLA's registered, and I worry if someone will delete accidentally or not one of them. It would be better to import / export an SLA instead of restoring a backup and losing a history, even for a short period of time.
