Monitoring a Google Apps domain

Anyone ever tried setting Zabbix up to monitor their Google Apps domain via Google's API's or any other method? I am thinking of things like

• watching for a reduction in the number of users or
• a large increase in the number of users or
• the number of users approaching the max allowed number.

I am sure there are many other useful things that could be pulled out... just never done it.

Not yet but I have some ideas on how to do it... just don't know how well they will work out. It is going to require extending Zabbix as a new item type will be needed. Once that is in place, I think checking Google Apps can be done by utilizing the same API calls that google-apps-manager uses.
