Help with zabbix and multiple pfsense

    Hi Team,

I am quiet new with zabbix.

I followed the instructions from the following site and installed Zabbix server.

Then I installed zabbix proxy on the main site and also zabbix agent.

The server is on 192.168.0.90/24 and the proxy is 192.168.0.200/24 which is also the pfsense firewall.

Now I have a site to site link to a few sites all via pfsense. I installed zabbix agent on all the remote pfsense but can seems to get the zabbix agent connect to the server.

So site A is connected back to the main site via link 10.0.20.0/24 and the route that is pushed through is 192.168.23.0/24 which is from the main site and local lan from the remote site is 192.168.20.0/24.

The setting for the remote agent is as follows:

    enable : yes
    Server : 192.168.23.200:10051
    Hostname: remote
    Listen IP : 0.0.0.0
    Listen Port : 10050
    Refresh Active checks : 120
    Timeout : 3
    Buffer Send : 5
    Buffer Size : 100
    Start Agents : 3

Can anyone assist on how I can get the remote zabbix agent to talk to the server via the proxy pls.

I hope I have asked the question at the right place.

    Cheers,

    Raj

In the Zabbix UI you need to create the proxy in "administration"-> "dm". The name you hive the proxy there MUST exactly match what the "Hostname" setting is in the proxy config file. Then you must edit the agent host in the UI and configure it to be monitored by the prox y.

After following the directions above, you will have to wait for the server to refresh it's config cache (default is 60 seconds) and then for the proxy to refresh its config cache (default is one hour).

      Hi Heaje,

      Thanks for the reply.

That is the case I have created the proxy and it matches the name as agent on the local pfsense is green (192.168.0.200).

That same pfsense has a virtual interface to that remote office and that interface ip is 192.168.23.200. The vlan 192.168.0.0/24 is not seen on the remote lan which is 192.168.20/0/24.

I have tried to put the remote agent to be monitored by the proxy as 192.168.23.200 or 192.168.0.200 and it never gets green.
