is there a way to monitor a distributed cluster?

we're planning to run a pacemaker/corosync cluster.

I wonder is there a more or less simple way to monitor a process running on one of the nodes without triggering any alerts on other nodes? I cannot figure out any at the moment.

Do you mean there's only one active node at the time? Define a trigger on that and use it for dependency.
