Dear,

We're using Zabbix to monitor user's network devices, but we don't have direct access to to the devices. We only have access to the user's Windows server from which we can access the devices. Since the devices are routers, firewalls etc using active mode is no option. An option we consider is to use a simple port-forwarder.
Any experience with such a tool?
What do you suggest?
Better options?

Sounds like a job for a zabbix-proxy installed on the client network.

The proxy talks to all the clients locally and then reports back to your main server.
