    Adding new hosts to proxy

I imported an XML file with around 100 hosts today - all sit behind a zabbix-proxy.

Does one need to do anything to, say, push the newly added hosts down to the proxy to begin monitoring? It seems that when you re-start the zabbix-proxy daemon, it pulls them down and monitoring begins pretty quickly. I don't want to have to re-start zabbix-proxy every time I add a host.

After I did the XML import, I guess I was expecting monitoring to begin pretty quickly, but really nothing happened until the daemon was re-started. Or maybe I just need to be patient, and zabbix-server will push it down to zabbix-proxy on its own schedule.

You do not have to restart proxies. Proxies are smart enough to synchronize configuration with Zabbix Server every ConfigFrequency seconds (1h by default) defined in zabbix_proxy.conf.

That is always one of the first settings I change when I install a new proxy. Who wants to wait for an hour for data when adding in new hosts??
