Is Zabbix vulnerable to Denial of Service attacks?

I happened to come across a page on an unrelated google search, and it has details of a Denial of Service attack occurring on systems running Zabix, by sending malformed requests to port 10500. Is it true? If so, has this been addressed?

BTW: Zabbix processes communicate via TCP.

I suggest to base such kind of investigation on more reliable sources like NVD - just to name one of them
