Zabbix server self internet check

Hi, i have searched high and low and nothing so i need some help.
I have a zabbix server configured to monitor a few hosts, but if the internet connection on the server drops it registers that all the hosts are down and starts sending SMS/Emails for each and every one.
I have configured most of my hosts to depend on the routers in the locations but still the server sends for 1 host ..not 6.
I need a trigger for self internet connection.
searched the web and found that i can make dependancies for every alert, i have tried to configure a ping to 8.8.8.8 check but no luck.
Think i need a simple check/icmping to 8.8.8.8 and that trigger set as a dependancy for every host.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I think you can configure a web.page.get to google and if it doesn't runs shot a trigger and make a depend on all the rest..
