How to remove old log data

I have been using the Log item and one of the logs are far too large. I want to know how to delete the Log data & if there is a way of limiting the logs size in the future.

I have tried deleting the data, but there was a DB error (caused by the fact the hdd was full) and I have tried deleting the item and the host, but the data is still in the DB.

Are you talking about a log that you are monitoring, like a system or application log, or do you mean limiting how large the zabbix_server.log or zabbix_agentd.log are?

@tchjts1: CarlosMessiah is referring to the application log that he's monitoring, which gets stored in the Zabbix DB.

I haven't been able to get the log monitoring to work efficiently yet
