    View natted-proxy public IP address

    Hello everyone.
Sorry for the multiple post (I already posted this question to the italian forum without any reply)

I am running a Zabbix server (2.0.7) on a linux server with public ip address.
I am monitoring several customers' networks.

One of this is a small network: adsl with dynamic public ip address and a pair of linux servers.
I successfully installed a Zabbix proxy (in active mode) on one of these servers, and agents on both.
Datas flow smoothly without any problems and I can see monitored devices on my Zabbix.

I am wondering if i can see, on the web interface of zabbix server, the public ip of adsl. In other words the source public ip of data coming from proxy.

    Thank you all,
    Sandro.

There are more than 2 ways that I can think of as to how you can obtain the public IP address:
    1) get a Dynamic DNS entry that you update with a script/application/router. then all you need to do is to monitor the IP address associated with that Dynamic DNS entry in a host in Zabbix
    2) do a wget on a host behing that ADSL modem to like http://www.whatsmyip.co.za/ to obtain its public IP address and then add the result to a Zabbix item

Unfortunately I don't know of a nice way to get the IP address in Zabbix from which the Active Zabbix Proxy connected...

Thank you Pada for your help.
Yeah, actually i was thinking about those solutions (or even to issue a ngrep with the unique name of proxy) but i was hoping there was a nicer solution.
It would be nice to have a dedicated field in Administration -> DM panel.

      Thank you anyway.
      Sandro.

        Any news about this?

Should I fill in a feature request?
