Zabbix configuration removes host from proxy

When I assign host "Zabbix server" to my "Zabbix proxy zabbix3" proxy, it seems to work for a little while, and I see "Zabbix proxy zabbix2:Zabbix server" on the config/hosts page. But then in a minute or so, it reverts to just "Zabbix server", and the proxy no longer monitors the "Zabbix server" host. What is up with that?

I'm trying to have the Zabbix server monitor the Zabbix proxy zabbix 3 host, and vice-versa. I've banged my head on my desk for hours now, so it's time to ask the friendly folks at Zabbix forums!

I think I found the problem, the "Zabbix server" agent config's ServerActive was set to the IP address of "Zabbix server" instead of "Zabbix proxy zabbix3" (the proxy). I had it set correctly previously and it wasn't working back then, but there must have been some other problem.

And I think I solved the original problem by following the advice given here: fixing active agent checks to work with proxies, which says to put both the proxy and then the server IPs in the Server list in the agent config.
