Hi, see: that sequence to tigger I use to notify me that a server is down (offline). By default only tells me when you restart the machine and regarding the hardware. But not when the service is down.
I don't quite get your question and what the issue is that you're having.
The trigger that is used to alert you that your server has been restarted is based on the uptime of the operating system, which means that as soon as it resets, you know the server has been restarted.
If you want to monitor a particular service, such as httpd/zabbix_agent, then there are usually a few ways of doing it. If it is hosting a TCP socket server, then you can monitor the TCP connection to that socket server to determine whether the service is up or not.
The other way of doing it is to monitor the amount of processed of that service is running. When it hits 0, then you know the service is down/not running.
Typically we regard the system as crashed/down when the active Zabbix agent didn't return any data the past 5 minutes.We use the agent.ping.nodata(5m) trigger for that.
