Custom Triggers Per Host Using Template

    Hi All,

I have a group of Windows hosts monitored with Zabbix, all using the OS Windows template. One of these hosts is susceptible to CPU spikes which causes the template item Processor Load (system.cpu.load) to trigger an alert. I want to continue using the Windows template, but would like this one host to only trigger when CPU > 10.

    Many thanks for your help.

??? A template just bundles items to assign them to a group of hosts. Templated items do not fire triggers (nor collect data) unless the template is assigned to at least one system.

So, the trigger is defined in a template but assigned to one or more hosts.
The alert message should clearly state which system caused the trigger.

I believe what he is saying is that the default trigger threshold for the Windows OS template is fine on all of his servers except for one server. He wants to modify the trigger on that one server while maintaining template integrity.

There is a way to do it with macros, but I am unsure of that particular process.

Understood. I was able to resolve this by cloning the template, adjusting the triggers on the new template, and applying the template to the host.

        Thanks for your reply.

Ah, ok. @tchjts1: You are doing good in mind reading ...

Will a templated macro become overwritten by a macro set on host level? If yes, then what you recommended is an easy task.

yep, macros defined on host level overrides template macros
