    telnet item getting Login failed

    Hello.
I'm currently trying Zabbix appliance 2.0.5, and having problem with telnet item.

I've made a telnet item like below:
    --------
    Name: telnet test
    Type: TELNET agent
    Key: telnet.run[testing,10.xx.xx.xx]
    Host interface: 10.xx.xx.xx:623
    User name: user
    Password: password
    Execute script: date
    Type of info: Text
    Update interval: 30
    blah blah blah
    --------

And I get errors in my zabbix_server.log:
    --------
item [host:telnet.run[testing,10.x.x.x]] became not supported: Login failed
    --------

So, I Looged in to my appliance, and tried to telnet to the host, but it works fine.
Neither IP, username, nor password seems to be wrong.

    1) Is telnet item supported in appliance? Has anyone succeeded in telnet item monitoring?

    2) Which 'host interface' should I use? I've tried Agent, SNMP, IPMI, but no luck.

    thank you.

We are experiencing exactly the same problem.
And when we look into the device we try to login to, we see the zabbix user logging in and then logging out, no failed login attemt error message on the device.

Has anybody got a working telnet configuration example with preferably screenshots and a non standard telnet port?

      Solved

Our problem turned out to be the fact that our device had collors in its terminal.
We were loggin on to a mikrotik device and when we used username+cte it would work.
