    Zabbix 2.2 with proxy 2.0

I remember that 1.8 proxies were not supported with zabbix 2.0 server. Is it the same now? Will 2.0 proxies work with 2.2 server??

    Thanks

    I would say, partially...

I get this message in the log after upgrading the server node only:
    Code:
failed to update local proxy configuration copy: invalid field name "items.snmpv3_authprotocol"
But at least existing checks mostly seem to work

Zabbix 2.2 proxies may only be used with Zabbix 2.2 server. They will not work with 2.0 or older Zabbix server.

        :-/

This is a colossal issue for large distributed installations

Why? Just keep your 2.0 proxies, that's all. Zabbix Server 2.2 will understand them.

Indeed it worked, even if the official documentation says it doesn't

I supose it is matter of test, case by case.

                Hello,

we have ~50 proxies around the globe and it will be a big issue if it is not working.
Can we upgrade the central Zabbix server to 2.2.5 and keep the 2.0.xx proxies?

                Regards,
                Jörg

                  Hello together,

                  I did a test with a 2.2 Server and a clone of a 2.0 Proxy.
The proxy shows the following in the log:
1255:20140721:141815.784 Received configuration data from server. Datalen 2311969
1255:20140721:141815.826 failed to update local proxy configuration copy: invalid field name "items.snmpv3_authprotocol"
My question is now... What is the best / fastest way to do the upgrade of the Central server and the 50 proxies.

                  Regards,
                  Jörg

do you have some suggestions to make the upgrade easier / faster of the server and all proxies?

                    Thanks,
                    Jörg

Use configuration management like Chef/Puppet etc.
