Zabbix 2.2 SQL Usage Increase

I have upgraded from 2.0.8 to 2.2.0 and have noticed a significance increase in SQL usage.

Zabbix and MySQL are running on seperate machines. From the moment Zabbix started as 2.2.0 the load average on the MySQL machine has increased a fair amount. Running a wireshark I can see that the Zabbix box is doing constant requests.

The Zabbix server doesn't have many hosts and nearly all items are 5+ minutes refresh. The "items per second" is only 2.51.

I launched Zabbix Server 2.2.0 at approx 21:45 yesterday, here are some performance graphs.

my sql query pass from 1kqps to 4kqps...

Restoring database from backup prior to upgrade and downgrading from 2.2.0 to 2.0.9 has reduced load on the MySQL server.

No other changes to hosts or templates, just server version.

MySQL QPS:

2.2.0 = 115
2.0.9 = 30

MySQL Server Load:

2.2.0 = 1.70
2.0.9 = 0.04

Has anyone else experienced this? 2.2 has now been out a month or so, does anyone else check the load of xSQL pre and post upgrade?
