Maybe I missed a mention in the docs, but is an upgrade from Zabbix 1.8 to the new 2.2 version possible (with the automatic DB update), or does the upgrade order need to be 1.8 > 2.0 > 2.2 ? Thanks.

The automatic updater (per http://blog.zabbix.com/zabbix-2-2-fe...ase-upgrading/) cheats, it looks for a server_check_interval on the config table. If not, the tool considers the db to be a 2.0 DB without that patch and proceeds from there. So I'd say its probably best to update to 2.0 and then to 2.2. That being said, you can sidestep some of the work by shutting down, updating the DB to 2.0.x, and then updating your binary to 2.2 and letting the tool do the rest on startup.
