    Not receiving email notifications

Hello all, I'm going through the tutorials in the Zabbix Network Monitoring book, I've created a test host that monitors CPU load and I have a trigger that will deliver a problem message whenever the CPU load is too high for at least 2 minutes. To test this, I create a load on the CPU so as to force the trigger and I can see the message. I have configured the action in such a way that a message will be sent to my email, but I never receive an email when the event occurs.

Attached are screen shots of my email configuration for user media types and my action configuration, respectively.

Would any be so kind as to point me in the right direction with regards to this? I've not been able to get notifications for a while and I feel I cannot move forward because of this, thanks.

    Confirmation

Could you give the following information?

    1. Is the Item getting data back?
Menu: Monitoring >> Latest data >> Item >> Graph
    2. Looking at the data would the trigger catch it?
Please give us the data sample and trigger expression
    3. What are the Conditions and Operations for the Action?
Those are tabs on the Action while editing it.

Notifications are dependent on all those things:
    Item --> DATA --> Trigger --> Action

As can be seen in my first attachement, the Trigger does pick up the problem.

My second attachment has the graph.

The conditions and operations of the Action are included in my first post.

Totaly different road. Did you check the maillog? Can you send email from the server to your address or any other?

Also make sure that the severity of the trigger matches those that you have setup to get notifications about.

I can send mail through the terminal using ssmtp (on Ubuntu 12.04), so that isn't really an issue. I'll be checking the mail log, but according to my front end dashboard, the trigger is recognized but the messages continually fail to be sent.

Check the medim settings under Administration->User. Go Edit and check the Severity as well as stats.
