First off I apologize if this is posted somewhere and I have missed it, I have been searching for much of today and really have not made a lot of meaningful progress.
I am trying to POC Zabbix against my equipment (Primarily stuff Cacti is monitoring today) but the kicker is we are 100% SNMPv3 with AES/SHA (authPriv) so I am having a bear of a time finding templates, or understanding when I do find templates how to efficiently update them to use what I need rather than manually updating each one manually (And then figuring out which ones work or do not work).
Assuming I can get this working I want to next move on to looking at this side by side with Nagios to just get a feel for hos it stacks up there as well, but the server talking to it's own agent isn't exactly rocket science so I'm trying to tackle SNMPv3 first.
I am finding PLENTY of templates built against v2 and it should be a pretty simple matter I would think to simply update them to use v3 and assign the relevant settings, is there an easier way to do this I am simply missing or overlooking? I am assuming there HAS to be as it would explain why there are so few SNMPv3 templates anywhere if everyone but me knows how to quickly make the v2 ones work for v3 without clicking through 900 screens!
Any help would be appreciated, even if it's a link to another page, no issue at all reading so I'm not begging for any handholding, just a nudge in the right direction if possible!
Thanks!
