SNMP monitoring - community with special chars

I want to monitor some cisco devices but the community for this devices have a lot of special characters, something like:

    ad%-efE!s*%$

I've already tried adding \ before the special chars with no result. I'm able to perform a snmpwalk from console, but there's no response if I add it in the {$SNMP_COMMUNITY} macro of zabbix interface.

    thanks

Did you already try a community string without special characters to be sure that these are the problem?
Just to be on the safe side. The user macro {$SNMP_COMMUNITY} needs to be used within the item(s) in question. Defining it only would not be enough.

For now I can confirm that at least '%' and '*' work without any issues
