SInce I couldn't find any documentation about the autoregistration function in Zabbix I'd thought describing some efforts of mine.
I've setup active agents on linux hosts which are setup to connect to the zabbix server.
In zabbix I created an autoregistration rule and linked the pattern to a template host:
id:1 pri:10 pattern:en_proxy* host:en_proxy
I've also set the zabbix server to DebugLevel=4. I've found that my new host with hostname 'en-proxy-cl' does not get registered. The logs show that my pattern doesn't match the hostname:
