Zabbix Auto discovery requires Zabbix Agent?

    Hi

    An important question:

I have a big amount of hosts which I want to monitor - for example to see
their availability, cpu%, memory% and etc.

When I configure Zabbix Auto-discovery for a segment (let's say 192.168.1.0-254) and enable it - it seems that nothing happens. No hosts discovered, no data.

What could be the problem? Do I have to install Zabbix Agent on all workstations? I know other monitoring software tools do not require any
additional installation except the server itself.

    Please help!
    Thanks.

There is mainly no "agentless" monitoring in zabbix. You need either one of the following agents: SNMP, zabbix, WMI, IPMI

Of course you can write your own check script which may utilize the Windows API (powershell or friends).

Basically: yes, you would need to install zabbix agents.

What version of Zabbix are you using?

How did you configure your discovery rules? Most importantly, which checks did you use for your network discovery rule?

Assuming that you are using the latest and greatest version, please also have a look at: https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...work_discovery
