Is it possible to made? Trigger for server ping

Hi all, I'm looking for a way to have a trigger when a client can't connect to a server.

    What I mean:

we need a trigger when a computer (with OS windows) for a problem (change ip address, dns or other) can't connect to a local server (printer or backup server folder or other with an IP), and it must generate an alarm to zabbix.

I think that we could make a simple ping to our local IP server and notify when ping doesn't works anymore, but I haven't got any idea to make that (if need windows shell or what).

    Can someone help me please?

I was trying make this: -> https://www.zabbix.com/forum/zabbix-...rom-pc-to-host but i didn't understand how to make it

I've used ICMPPING command with IP ADDRESS (and it works!) but if DHCP is enabled and pc change his IP? It stops reading.. is it possible to use PC name instead of IP ADDRESS?

Yeah use icmpping with some alerts. Heres an example of my triggers. You'll notice i have one for no data received (all our hosts get pinged by dns address). This tells me if the DNS entry disappeared.

Also for my Hard down alert, the reason i look for 1000 value count in the last 3 hours, is so brand new machines that actively register with zabbix dont fire off ping alerts on first join.

Can't see image, is too small!

I've solved simply using name computer... For example, pc's name of my team mate is: "EG2010-020" and i put item with command: icmpping[EG2010-020] and it says if computer XY can ping that computer. The same i make for an internet address to view if the pc can use internet or not
