Change Interface Default Status

Hi,

I have a alert for a switch VIA SNMP about a link down, i know this is down because the device has been unplugged

Question:
How do i change the default state to down so that this alert is no longer there.

Thanks for your reply but thats not what i am after.

When i first added my router to the monitoring my VPN was connected, therfore the initial state of the interface was UP since then i have disconnected and now it is showing as a "Problem" on the dashboard
