    data exclusion

    Good afternoon

I installed a zabbix server to monitor the network of the provider that I work, I have no in-depth knowledge, I have been doing and seizing, I'm having difficulty in setting up the bank cleaning that is leaving my zabbix slow, I have it running in version 3.4 on a ubuntu server 16 , with mysql separate version mariadb 10.0 and ubuntu server 16, with about 600 hosts.

I tried putting the data cleansing to be done only at night, but did not solve the slowness, I believe it was due to the size of the table history_uint being large, so I did the partitioning of tables as I saw in the zabbix wiki, but now they are in doubt on I would like to keep data as hosts availability for a long period of time, but other data not, what doubt me with this partitioning configured to table history_uint I lose the events when the partition is deleted?

In that case if I select in the host template to keep certain item for longer than what is set in the partitioning it will keep?

So my question is partitioning like this in the manual, erase everything? or will it run as the housekeeper and delete only according to what I put to keep in the template?

Sorry for the bad English, I'm translating, I still have not found any explanation of my doubts in Portuguese.

    Thanks in advance.

This is one of the most often made mistakes about housekeeping zabbix monitoring data.
Why? Because sampling monitoring metrics on regular bases causes that more or less flow of new monitoring data across every hour/day/week is is THE SAME.
Instead you should start looking for partitioning zabbix history*trends* tables.
