How to delete the network adapter that has WFP in Network interfaces for discovery

    Good afternoon,

I just installed an agent in Windows and when I do the template search that uses the "Network interfaces for discovery" it brings several network cards that have the WFP name, I would delete the boards so that it has WFP in name.

    Hi, AlexandreCFernandes!

You need to exclude your unwanted network interfaces in Administration -> General -> Regular expressions.
Open "Network interfaces for discovery", add a new line "WFP" with [Return is FALSE]:

For instant cleanup you can temporary set discovery to 1m and 'Keep lost resources period' resources to 0:

Once you accomplish clean system, please change back these settings to
    Update interval: 1h
    Keep lost resources period: 30d

    Best regards,
    Aigars

I added the QoS and WFP filters. Curiosity: Why would I need to monitor these subinterfaces? Why does the template no longer come with these filters?

You do not necessarily need to change the range to 1m, just click Check Now.

    Hi aigars.kadikis

I have performed as your rules as per your instruction. I have a question on how to add the information of the "WFP", I am new to this system and I am learning a lot every day that I exercise, I added "^wfp$" on the line and it still did not work.

Thanks for the help and I await your return.

    Alexandre.

You should probably add plain WFP all in caps without any ^ or $. Another suggestion in to include full adapter string. Here is how I have implemented the network adapter exlusion list:

      btw:
^WPS.* means that adapter name shoud start with WPS.
.*WPS$ means that adapter name should end with WPS.
^WPS$ means that adapter name is just exatly "WPS"

Please respect the case sesnsitivity or uncheck "Case sensitive" checkbox

        Hello my dear

I did the test as you indicated, and even then he brought the network card where there was the expression "WFP" in the name of the network card.

I mounted a new Windows server to check if there could be some problem in the database or history.

        The problem persisted.

The blacklisted adapter names will disappear only after new discover cycle execution. By default it is 1h.

Did you respect "WFP" case sensitivity while defining expression?

            Hello aigars.kadikis.

I noticed that the filter was not working because the "WFP" is not part of the interface name, but is part of the interface alias(nickname).

I created a new item in the filter called #IFALIAS, created a new regular expression called "Network IFALIAS Interface for discovery" and I informed this item in the template filter.

In this way it worked without problems.

I have already understood the issue of the time interval and the period of loss and I found it very cool, you can change a discovery rule only for that server and not for all, in this way it is possible to test until the total solution of the problem.

Thank you very much for your help.
