Is it possible to restore data from zabbix 2.4.6 to zabbix 3.4.4?

    Hi all,

I have a prod Zabbix 2.4.6 server running on rhel 6.8, with Percona MySQL 5.6.22-71.0.

We need to migrate to rhel 7, so I have a rhel 7 server.
I setup Zabbix 2.4.6 and restored the MySQL DB from the prod Zabbix server to Percona MySQL 5.7.22-22 running on the rhel7 server.
I then upgraded to Zabbix version 3.4.4 on the rhel7 server.

I only have a handful of clients pointing to both the prod and rhel7 Zabbix servers, my intent is to have all clients report to both servers.
I was wondering if it is possible to restore the Zabbix 2.4.6 DB to the Zabbix 3.4.4 DB? If not any suggestions on how I can get all the historical data from the prod server to the new Zabbix server (we keep about 1 year of data).

I "hope" I provided enough info, if not please let me know what I may be missing.

Thanks, everyone in advance for the help.

Zabbix supports db migration. Whether it's on the same server or on a restored database, Zabbix won't know. I ran DB migration from 2.4 to 3.4 many times. Restore your 2.4 db to your new server. The first time you start zabbix-server, it will run the db migration.

You can copy the database to the new server (with mysql down) with your tool of choice, rsync or a db backup tool, I use xtrabackup. https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-...EST/index.html
