How to stop alerts when making changes

I'm just setting things up in Zabbix 2.2.1 and I have some items set to send me email when they break. I'm making a lot of changes during this time and it seems that whenever I make a change affecting a server that is set to email an alert, it sends an OK email for that trigger.

I'd like it to only send an email if something is broken first. Maybe I'm missing something.

I pretty much figured it out. I was playing around with actions and finally figured out to add "Trigger value = PROBLEM" to the conditions to make things work pretty well.

Now, I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to change the interval if there's been any acknowledgement.
