Use ITEM in a ICMP Simple Check

Hi,
I have a ITEM that gets the IP address of an Access Point throw the Wifi Controller. I now would like to use that IP Address and do a Simple Check (ICMP) against that IP Address (directly against the AP).
Is is possible to use the value of an ITEM in another ITEM? In this case something like icmppingsec[ITEM]?

I think it is related with your question and it may help.
I succes to write item result in graph title by using

"{{HOST.HOST}:hmNetLocalIPAddr.last(0)}" ping response time

with key item hmNetLocalIPAddr regarding ip address of the device.
