Problems configuring email alerts

Hello everyone, im having some problems configuring the email alerts. In the "Media types" i have configured an email, a trigger with actions, but im not receiving alerts. I was reading that the solution is installing "postfix" on the Zabbix server, but in other forums many people says that postfix is not neccessary.
Anyone can help me?
