Hello!
I have searched through the forums but perhaps this is not possible or I am not clever enough to search for the right thing.
We have an environment where we have many linux servers on the network and specific locations where a device is assigned to be. All of our devices are largely interchangeable and due to maintenance, failures, etc which device is in which location can change so the hostname of the device at a given location will change.
Is it possible to set up monitoring via alias, ie: a list where a location name references a hostname so that even though the hostname changes the location name does not need to be changed, therefore only the list needs to be maintained and it is not necessary to constantly change the monitoring configuration?
Thanks
Chris
