Easy way to put host into maintenance?

Is there an easy way to put a host into maintenance mode? I was expecting something as simple as a button to turn on/off maintenance. I also thought it might be in the host configuration under status = monitored/not monitored.

I'm assuming there isn't an easy way, but I thought I would ask anyways.

Some of us use a "permanent" maintenance group - a group witch maintenance end some years out in the future.
So we put the host (or hostgroups) in and out of this group - to get it in maintenance.
