    Linkspeed-macros in links fubar after upgrade from 1.8.3 to 1.8.20

    Hey fellas,

    recently discovered Maps in Zabbix and loved it. Configured some nodes
    and added linkspeed-macros and everything looked great. A few days
    later I decided to upgrade our stoneage-installation to the latest version
    in the 1.8-branch and also messed around with a template after which
    some of the links in the map are not resolved to actual itemdata.

    Last few days I've been trying to troubleshoot this without success. I've
    verified that the relevant items are updated (graphs are working fine) and
    I cannot for the life of me understand why the hosts whose template I
    haven't touched stopped working.

    Example label for one of the links:

    -> {bmf1:Port 4 Out Octets.last(0)}
    <- {bmf1:Port 4 InOctets.last(0)}

    I thought maybe the upgraded version hade problems with spaces so I've tried delimiting the item-name with both " and ' without success. I've increased debug-level on the server to Warning and also looked at the httpd-errorlog for any clues at all => nothing.

    As you can see, all the links in the upper part of the map are non-working, and everything in the lower part (partially cut-off) works great.

    Compiled Zabbix 1.8.20 running on Centos 5.10 (x86_64) on VMware.

    Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this further are greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Do you mind to show labels from working links?
    Any one which shows real numbers instead of Text of Macros?
    Sincerely yours,
    Aleksey

      Hi!

      The one on the left leading up to "c11" reading 223.94/21.85 Mbit has
      the following label:

      ↑ {cs-fe-rcr:ifOutOctets22.last(0)}
      ↓ {cs-fe-rcr:ifInOctets22.last(0)}

      "cs-fe-rcr" is not visible on the image but it simply the other (lower) side of the link.

      Regards,

        Well, now I see something understandable.

        Because before I saw some strange name for keyword. I never ever seen keywords with spaces between parts of key.
        Like you have {Port 4 Out Octets.last(0)}

        Now to solve that mystery puzzle - do you mind to give me the description of Item which you would like to see on the Map?
        To be more precise - key for Item Port 4 on Host bmf1.

        I hope that I will see something like ifInOctets[Port 4] if you use SNMP agent, or like net.if.in[Port 4] if you use Zabbix agent.

        I look forward to your reply.
        Sincerely yours,
        Aleksey

          Hi and thanks for your feedback!

          Looking at the items related to "Port 4":

          DESCRIPTION TRIGGERS KEY INTERVAL HISTORY TRENDS TYPE APPLICATIONS STATUS
          Port 0004 10GigabitEthernet1/4 Description Port 4 Desc 1800 7 SNMPv2 agent - Active
          Port 0004 10GigabitEthernet1/4 InOctets Triggers (1) Port 4 InOctets 60 7 365 SNMPv2 agent - Active
          Port 0004 10GigabitEthernet1/4 OutOctets Triggers (1) Port 4 Out Octets 60 7 365 SNMPv2 agent - Active
          Port 0004 10GigabitEthernet1/4 Speed Triggers (2) Port 4 Speed 600 7 365 SNMPv2 agent - Active
          Port 0004 10GigabitEthernet1/4 State Triggers (1) Port 4 State 600 7 365 SNMPv2 agent - Active
          Port 0004 10GigabitEthernet1/4 State (Admin) Triggers (1) Port 4 State Admin

          Every item has of course the corresponding SNMP-OID configured.

            ok.
            Sorry for misunderstanding.
            I need from you just one word from Item description like I have in my Item description:
            Code:
            Key: ifOutOctets[eth0]
            Could you pull down into Item description and show me that key?

            Also I would like to see your Host name to provide you the Fully Qualified Label Name (FQLN)

              Hiya!

              Host is "bmf1".

                Oh, I see.
                You know - it's very unusual to have "key" with the space between parts of keyword.

                Did you try to rename keyword manually to something like "Port-4-Out-Octets" ?

                Does it help to get number instead of text on your Map?
                Sincerely yours,
                Aleksey

                  Sweet Jeez!

                  I was just about to reply and say that I had but I decided to give it another go and wham, it worked.

                  So.. as far as I can tell, something changed between 1.8.3 and 1.8.20. I've renamed all keys and the map looks bloody glorious.

                  Thanks a bunch, aib, for your time and suggestions!
