[CentOS] is it necessary to install open jdk for java-gateway?

    Hi,
I have a CentOS machine with zabbix server 3.4.12. i would like to install there java-gateway in order to monitor processes via JMX.
I have noticed that the rpm of the java-gateway requires open jdk 1.6 >=
and i was wondering if i can use my current oracle jre 1.8 or do i need to install also open jdk?

anyone knows why it needs open jdk in the first place?

    Thanks,
    Michael
