About item interval

hi there,

im new in using zabbix and monitoring in general
in recent weeks, i literally just exploring zabbix in web panel and trying to understand how its really work

i noticed that there's interval field in each items.
for example my interval for icmpping is 60, that's in SECOND right?
but when i used wireshark to capture i realize that 'ping packet sent' in every second(1s interval)

how to explain this ? is there a way to configure the 'ping packet sent' interval ?
