zabbix agent - autoregistration - perfcounter problem

Hi,
I have followong setup:
windows Vmware template with pre-installed zabbix. The agent is configured for autoregistration which works like a charm.
On the serverside is an action configured which links the new hosts to some templates.
Inside the templates items are configured to gather windows application specific perfcounter.
This application is in the moment of zabbix agent start/assign the checks not installed. This leads to a "Cannot obtain performance information from collector" and zabbix agent will never try again to query the perfcounter until restart.

Is there any idea like a delayed automatic template assignment during autoregistration, or any other way to force zabbix agent to query perfcounter again?

I don't quite understand this, could you share the template? The agent should just simply be querying that data based on your interval value.

the template is nothing special. I will try to explain the current state in a timeline based style:

0: vm template with windows + zabbix agent
1: cloning template
2: customizing template - assign IP, name, Join AD (zabbix agent service is starting)
3: autoregistration at zabbix server + linking to template
4: zabbix agent query application specific perfcounter
4:1 perfcounter not installed, zabbix agent reports "Cannot obtain performance information from collector"
5: installation of application, perfcounter becomes avaiable
6: zabbix agent doesn't trys to collect application specific perfcounter until restart of zabbix agent

4.1 causes me the headache. It seems zabbix agent runs in a faulty state and never query the value again.

"4: zabbix agent query application specific perfcounter" - how is it configured to do this?

"4:1 perfcounter not installed, zabbix agent reports "Cannot obtain performance information from collector"" - once it is available it should then give you a value back. Unless, your App post install builds in it's own newer specific counters and will not be read by the agent process. That would make sense as to needing a restart. Can you add these counters in before you add to the monitoring?

sorry for the late reply - it is not possible to add the counter before starting monitoring.
Isn't there a way to force zabbix agent to retry reading this counters without restarting the agent?
