Script Alerting

Hi all

We are looking at the action side / media side that can use a media type as a script. What I am looking at is that it kicks of a script that places a file with the action detail in in a file in a specific directory so that our monitoring tool can just pickup the new file.

Is this possible and if it is how would I go about in doing it?
