Zabbix Discovery rule

Hi there, I wonder how the Discovery rule works. Is there an exact guide that I can use which will help me alot. For some reason there is no data for the discovery so I'm probably doing something wrong.
I hope that there is someone can help me.

Did you add in Checks, ICMP pings to being?
