    The host names defined in the web frontend must match the name defined in the agent's config file.

        zabbix_server web frontend:
        - Hosts -> Host name : hostname_of_client

        zabbix_agentd.conf on CLient's PC/server
        Code:
        # grep -i hostname /etc/zabbx/zabbix_agentd.conf
        Hostname=hostname_of_client
        Sincerely yours,
        Aleksey

            The windows agent has an identical formatted config file. Just look for a zabbix-agentd.conf file when you installed the agent.

              and don't forget to restart Zabbix Agent service every time when you change the configuration.
              OK?
              Sincerely yours,
              Aleksey

                I think in most cases the file name is zabbix_agentd.conf file (underscore instead of a hyphen)

                  True! (except on Suse ;-)
                  Don't really know who had the glorious idea of changing binary and config file names between distributions.

                    Zabbix Configurations

                    This is how I have configured my config. file and I am still failing to get this host on the frontend

                    server=<http://192.168.1.2>
                    sourceip=192.168.1.114>

                    # Allow remote commands for reactive monitoring
                    EnableRemoteCommands=1

                    #Log all remotely executed commands
                    LogRemoteCommands=1

                    # Increase default timeout from 3 seconds
                    Timeout=5

                    # Increase default number of agents from 3
                    StartAgents=5

                      Server= should simply be the IP of your Zabbix server. Get rid of "http://"
                      Also, if you are using any active checks for your items, you should have ServerActive= and that should also be the IP of your Zabbix server.

                      Zabbix uses a lot of case sensitive parameters. Is your conf file server= or Server=? It should be Server= and ServerActive=

                      Also, try it without using SourceIP parameter.

                      (Edit) Oh, and don't have <> around your IP's. It should just look like Server=192.168.1.2

                        The name specs must not contain "http" or the like. Just a name (and if it's the server address, an IP address is valid, too).

                        Oh: and don't mess with "sourceip" unless you have to. It sets the source address

                            Increase the timeout values in the config files for both agent and server.
