    Graphs beginning at 0?

    Hi Folks!

    zabbix is working now and it's great!

    Now I have only one problem...
    For example the server load graph will be much more meaningful if the Y axis always begins at 0 I think.
    So how can I always get the beginning of the Y to 0. Can the graphs "scale"?

    I hope you understand what I mean - if not I'll make a scrennshot

    Hi weasel,

    glad to hear you managed to get it running.

    To make the graph look like you want you have to create a graph with the Y axis "Fixed" instead of "Calculated". Go to Configuration > Graphs > Create graph, then put all the info, and choose the Fixed Y axis. That should be it.

      Hi mbrijun

      Yeah... that was my idea too
      The problem is that the load can be from 0 to 200 - in theory

      When I set the max to 10 the graphs will look nice and show the information I need. Every load over 10 will disappear...

      Max to 200: the graphs are way to smaaaaaaaaaall

      Any ideas for a solution?

      Thanks in advance

        not really sure it has that flexibility... what about setting the max value somewhere in the middle - say you know that 99% of time it does not go above 50.

          okay... no problem. I'll try to habituate with that BUT

          I'd like to set a fix value for the duskusage. The problem is that the max field only accepts double...

          it can't be that the highest value is 99KB

          pleeeeeeease... help :P

          Target: range from 0 to 300GB

              You could have two graphs, one above the other. The one below has values from 0 to 100 and the one above values 100 to 200. Then you put them both on one screen and you can select the sizes. Probably not the simplest but it will show your data. And try scaling if necessary.

                I have a solution

                its no very clean but ...
                On each server i make a ping wich value is 0 or 1. I had this value to the graph. the graph will start at 1 (or 0) so can easily evalute the amount of memory on the servers.

                  set your y axis to 0

                  I liked having the scaleable graphs start from 0.

                  Quick fix:

                  in frontends/php/include/classes/graph.inc.php, search for

                  function calculateMinY($side)
                  {

                  as the first line of the function, add in

                  return 0;

                  Warning: this might break your graphs if you have fixed scale graphs. I don't know, as I have not tested it on any fixed scale graphs. It restores the feature I needed, so that's good enough for me for now.

                  PS: back up your file before making changes

                    The graphs on 1.1beta2 on my setup do start at 0, but 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 both have show some graphs that start higher up the scale.

                      As far as I know, the change was recent.

                      The file I mentioned above actually has the line
                      // return 0;
                      at the top of the function. Just uncomment it if you want that behaviour.

                      A "proper" fix would be to add an option to make it "optional", either globally or per graph.
