    exclude time

    Hi,

I have a host and when not reachable we will get emails. Is it possible not to check this host at certain times such as: 1 PM to 2 PM? Is this doable in zabbix? I am running 2.0.2

    Thanks
    Paras.

Another option would be to create a maintenance window for the specific host.

I'm curious about this as well. I have a group of hosts that I only want to receive alerts for during business hours; however I'd still like to receive metrics for them at all hours.

Adding flexible times to the Items seems like it wouldn't work, because then I'm only collecting data during those flexible times. Can maintenance periods extend indefinitely, and are they the best way to accomplish this?

          Hi, 'rlawrie'
When you configured user's Media, did you paid attention to the field "When active" ?
If you configure that field properly (like 1-5,08:00-16:00), you will have e-mail notifications only in your business hours.

It was the same behavior which you asked about?
          Sincerely yours,
          Aleksey

I have seen the , but I do still want to receive alerts for other host/host groups in my configuration. Would I need to
            1. Create multiple versions of Actions, excluding hosts/host groups from one and explicitly limit to those excluded host groups for the other,
            2. Have multiple Users with different When Active periods to cover the time periods I want to address,
            3. Have the Actions direct to their corresponding copy of each User.

Or am I oblivious of an easier way to do this and just making this more complex than they need to be?

Sorry 'pradhanparas' if I've hijacked your thread, it just seemed exactly related to what I was looking for.

I don't recall for your specific version, but on the current version you can set it to recur.

Also though like aib mentioned with the user's media, for maintenance you would want to keep data collection, but disable your actions/notifications for systems in maintenance.

Thank you. I'm on v2.2.2, so I've gone with using recurring maintenance periods as a way to work accomplish having custom notification periods for hosts or host groups. Appreciate the help!
