    install zabbix on ubuntu 13.10 - zabbix-server-mysql depends on libsnmp15

    Hi All,

    I am trying to install zabbix 2.2.1 on ubuntu 13.10
    ubuntu is freshly build and has all updates installed. i have LAMP server installed and working fine.
    Problem is with installing zabbix.
    After i run
    apt-get install zabbix-server-mysql zabbix-frontend-php
    i get following error:
    zabbix-server-mysql : Depends: libsnmp15
    i tried installing this package but it is obsolete.
    there is libsnmp30 installed on the server.

    can anyone help with getting this problem sorted?

    I assume you are installing the packages for precise aka 12.04.

    Code:
    root@vbonk:~# cat /etc/lsb-release && dpkg -l|grep snmp
    DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
    DISTRIB_RELEASE=12.04
    DISTRIB_CODENAME=precise
    DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS"
    ii libsnmp-base 5.4.3~dfsg-2.4ubuntu1.1 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) MIBs and documentation
    ii libsnmp-session-perl 1.13-1ubuntu1 Perl support for accessing SNMP-aware devices
    ii libsnmp15 5.4.3~dfsg-2.4ubuntu1.1 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) library
    ii snmp 5.4.3~dfsg-2.4ubuntu1.1 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) applications
    ii snmpd 5.4.3~dfsg-2.4ubuntu1.1 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) agents
    You may want to grep the package for 12.04 then and try installing that. Don't know if it would break other stuff.
    Best approach then would be to self-compile zabbix for 13.10.
