[Monitor over Wan] Howto?

Hello,

I have installed the Zabbix Server, and looked around on the net on how to add hosts etc.. I'm trying to monitor firewalls (at first, later servers of my customers).

I made a host group 'firewalls' and created a host 'pfsense.domain'

In my Pfsense (other location than zabbix) I installed the zabbix package, and filled in the wan ip of where my zabbix is located, and the hostname pfsense.domain.

But its not working.

What else do I need to do to get these things working. The main idea is to have my zabbix server running in my datacenter rack, and I want to be able to monotor my customers firewalls/servers.

Hello.

I guess there is no much difference between lan and wan for Zabbix.

You have to make sure that zabbix agent is properly configured ( enabled, zabbix server public ip, agent's listening address and port ) and running. Also you should check firewall settings so it pass traffic from network to agent.
