    New VSphere 6.5.0 VM Help

I have setup a new VM in vSphere 6.5.0 and when I boot the VM there is no eth0 at all all I have is the loopback.

    Any ideas?

Hi Richard, check your vSphere Network and Adapter settings for both your (Host) and (VM) machine, also check your interface settings.

    sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces

I have managed to get that all sorted last night, i am now struggling to get the system setup. I thought it would have been an easy scan the network and setup what I needed.

But this has not bee the case.

what are you trying to monitor? win/linux servers, network devices?

I have not added any articles lately but hope some of my material is of use to you and the community.

I would like to monitor the following:

          22 x VM Servers
          7 x Physical Servers
          5 x Network Switches
          2 x Dedicated Hosting Servers

I am looking to monitor all the normal things on a network but I am looking to setup triggers that would not just send me a message for a CPU that was running high for a few seconds more like it to be like AI triggers for it to say ok for the past few minuets CPU load was high lets trigger if it was just a few seconds ignore (if that makes sense)

you will need to setup a (Host) for each server on the zabbix front-end. Then you will need to setup the zabbix agent on all the servers. If you have any VMware ESXI boxes then you will need to enable SNMP on the EXSI GUI console as you will be unable to install the agent.

Passive Monitoring (Servers On Same Network As Zabbix)
Active Monitoring (Servers Behind Firewalls Outside Of Network)

If you carry out a search on Google, there should be articles on how to add devices and servers on Zabbix. Also check the Zabbix documentation online.
