unable to install the zabbix on ubuntu

Hello,
I have tried this link https://www.zabbix.com/download?zabb...enial&db=MySQL

and upon running
# mysql -uroot -p

i am getting following error
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

I simply followed the steps, and entered password i have for root.

Can anyone help please?

Hi,
Just to confirm - are you using the password that you set for the MySQL root user during the MySQL setup?
You could also try resetting the password for the MySQL root user as described here

thank you for your help. actually i dont know about MySQL setup, i just followed the commands given. and i was trying to enter my server password there.
I tried above link, even that method didnt work for me.

Can you pls guide how i can set mysql root password pls?
