Host restarted

Dear all,

I have an issue regarding the host restarted event (system.uptime.change(0)}<0) on my windows server. There is one windows server keeps pop up on Host restarted in X:X:X times then resolved after few second and send another alert again with different time of 1 minute. The alert keeps on pop up till now. Anyone had this kind of issue?

Hi,

There is another server with identical "Hostname" field configured in Zabbix agent configuration file, and the check type is agent active. Therefore Zabbix server treats the results as coming from one host.
You can check what is reported for "system.hostname" item on the same host. If they are identical too, look for "system.hw.macaddr" changes to trace the duplicate. Note that all these items must be configured as active.

In Zabbix agent configuration file you can set a field "Hostname". If you have done this manually and by copying the file over to different servers there is a high chance the Hostname values are identical for some of them. Or you have some servers really with identical host names in your network. If the items you use are with type "Zabbix agent (active)" they will then appear in Zabbix as coming from a single host.

Check at least the "Latest data" graph for the "system.uptime" item. How does the graph look like?

Yes, two hosts reporting with one identical name to Zabbix. You have to find out what are these two and change their configuration files appropriately.
